		<description>I realise this is old but you may be interested to know that actually the 40D (and I imagine other canon SLRs) record a &quot;frame number&quot; item in the meta data, independent of the file number, this is how many &quot;clicks&quot; your shutter has done. You can view this data in Photo Mechanic (&quot;Frame #&quot;), or if you upload stuff to flickr (&quot;File index&quot;), even if you&#039;ve renamed the file, so I imagine it can be found in other EXIF viewers too.</description>
